Staff DevOps Engineer - Computation Platform

• At Cloudera, we build, test, and ship a large number of Open Source projects within the Apache ecosystem. To meet this large scale demand, we have certified our product using a container cloud powered by Apache Hadoop YARN for the past several years. We are looking for a senior Hadoop and Linux Devops Engineer to join the team that maintains this platform. This is an exciting opportunity to gain deep expertise with Docker, Hadoop, and Kubernetes. You would also have the opportunity to contribute to the Apache projects with the potential to become a committer.

  Your day to day tasks include:

  - Resolving alerts due to software or hardware issues

  - Plan and implement capacity requests

  - Installation and management of Apache Hadoop YARN based container clouds

  - Helping to containerize legacy applications

  - Maintaining a collection of OS Docker images

  - Improving configuration management tooling

  - Planning and implementing monitoring solutions

  Your skills include:

  - Self starter and strong learner

  - Completes tasks with limited direction

  - Strong communication skills

  - Experience supporting Hadoop clusters

  - Experience troubleshooting and working with JVMs

  - Expert level Linux Sys admin skills

  - Strong understanding of hardware

  - Strong network stack skills including SDN

  - Docker/Linux Container experience

  You might also have:

  - Experience with configuration management/devops
