Full stack dev (VP Engg track with equity)

NextElection is a new global accountability framework for public personas (politicians and bureaucrats) to be used by citizens. Insights gathered by the platform aims to empower voters before elections such that they are able to vote based on historical quantitative data rather than the most recent appeasement policy of the government. Our social responsibility is to discover and help solve citizen issues, and our open data policy will allow the community, researchers and policy makers to make better data driven decisions.

Role

We are looking for a tech all rounder to lead the tech stack dev for the current product (which is launched, fully working and stable) as we scale and add new features. The primary focus will be backend. Preferably a woman engineer for gender diversity. The current work load is expected to be about 10 hrs a week, done from anywhere, at anytime.

We have a strong social goal, and we operate in a difficult space, which does not lend itself towards massive funding. You must be passionate about creating impact on democratic processes and governance. You will moonlight with us initially and then join full time for due compensation of cash and equity.

Tech expertise

Strong proven expertise in Python, Django and databases (mandatory) + AWS. Android, React/node.js, frontend etc skills are good to have.

Non tech

Our ideal team member must be extremely reliable. We value this above all else. It doesn’t matter what you commit to, as long as you meet the commitment.
